Welcome to Brixington Pre-School!
Brixington Pre-School was established in 1973 and we currently run five morning sessions and one afternoon sessions a week during term-time, for a maximum of 26 children per session aged 2-5 years. We currently run a lunch club after each morning session.
The group is a registered charity run under the direct management of the Pre-School Learning Alliance. We comply with the provisions of the Children’s Act 1989 and are regularly monitored by Ofsted. We aim to provide the highest quality of education and care for all our children and offer a welcome meeting to each individual child and family.
We provide a warm and caring environment within which all children can learn and develop as they play. If you have any questions you are welcome to come to Brixington Pre-School and see how we work and ask questions.
Aims & Objectives
Pre-school Learning Alliance Settings provide a safe and caring environment where young children under five years old will learn and grow. We embrace the new Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) a single quality framework that applies to all settings caring for children from birth to five.
The basis of our approach to early learning and development are the EYFS principles, based on these four themes:
- A Unique Child - Every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self assured.
- Positive Relationships - Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents first and later, a ‘key person’ in their setting.
- Enabling Environments - The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning.
- Learning and Development - Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates, and all areas of learning and development are of equal importance and are interconnected. The areas of learning in the EYFS are set out in the setting curriculum section.
Our mission is to
- Help children to succeed
- Create the childcare which families need
- Build learning communities
